Platform role
SellBuy Autos is a listing marketplace. We do not guarantee vehicle condition, title, or ownership; we never hold escrow or process payments between buyers and sellers; we do not provide import, customs, or registration services; and we are not a party to any sale transaction. Premium subscription payments (platform services only) are processed by Stripe — see “Payments & subscriptions” below.
Data we collect
- Location data — when you search near you or list a vehicle, we use coordinates or city-level accuracy depending on your choices. Accuracy levels vary by feature.
- Account data — email, profile name, language preference, and optional Telegram linkage when you sign in with Telegram.
- Listings and media — photos, descriptions, and optional VIN or plate numbers you provide as a seller.
- Cookies — language preference (
sba_locale) and cookie consent status.
Payments & subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. as an independent data controller for payment data. We never receive or store full card details. When you start a checkout, Stripe collects the data needed to process the payment (card or other method, billing country, and any tax identifiers you provide).
- What we store — a Stripe customer reference (
stripe_customer_id), subscription status and current period end, and any optional billing details you submit in account settings (legal name, company registration, VAT/NIP, billing address, invoice email). These are used only to issue invoices and apply your plan limits. - What Stripe stores — payment method, transaction history, and any fraud-prevention signals, governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Webhooks — Stripe notifies our backend of subscription lifecycle events (created, updated, cancelled) so we can grant or revoke Premium features. We keep a record of webhook event ids for idempotency and audit.
- Retention — billing records are retained for the period required by applicable accounting and tax law (typically up to several years), even if you delete your account.
Your rights (GDPR)
You may request access, correction, portability, or deletion of your personal data. Use account settings to export profile data or request account deletion. Contact support for full erasure including listings and linked identifiers.
User-generated content
Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of listing information. We may remove listings that violate our terms. Use the report mechanism on listing pages for fraudulent or misleading content.
Country-specific notes
Buyers should verify registration rules, import duties, insurance, and inspection requirements in the country where the vehicle is located and where they intend to register it. See our Terms of Service for marketplace disclaimers.
- Poland — temporary import limits, OC insurance, pre-purchase inspection recommended.
- Germany — TÜV/HU inspection; export plate rules vary by seller.
- Czech Republic — STK inspection; VAT for commercial sellers.
- Ukraine — customs and excise for imports; verify VIN and title.
